"For me, art is not recreating reality; it is about creating illusion regarding a chosen subject matter with line, colour, and form with any given space on a two dimensional surface. As is to say, nature is tangible. The size and shape of the canvas is very important to me. What's also important is how the size and shape of the canvas will occupy the space as a finished product of my imagination. Be that in a private home, a gallery or commercial building. The painting must possess aesthetic and spiritual attributes as well as intellectual and technical properties. No matter what subject I choose to deal with, it needs to go through a process of adding and eliminating of all necessary and unnecessary forms. As is with the colours and lines within the picture until the image reaches the point of completion when there is no need to add or diminish anything on the canvas. Off course, I need to predetermine the idea to be translated onto the canvas without making changes too many times. A painting is never completed. For me it is simply that I make the decision to stop at a particular moment when I cannot add any more colour, form or brush mark to the image. That is what makes an artist strive to paint a better painting than the one before."
